Sania Mirza had just won a Wimbledon doubles final, but one journalist wanted to ask her about motherhood. For Mirza it was the type of question that highlights the sexist attitudes that women face every day.

Gender stereotypes affect women’s ability to succeed in every area of life and encouraging women to prioritize family over professional goals can undermine how women perceive their own competence.

At the current rate of progress, it will take another 108 years to close the global gender gap.

  1. Prototype exists in all societies,SM good thing this gentleman didn't ask her what are you doing in India u should be across the border.

  2. The music and quotes by the editorial team are obnoxious and strongly SJW.

    Sania is from India. Of course they've got a lot of catching up to do regarding current gen morals. We've got ancient culture ingrained in us everywhere, and India has for a long time had strong opinions on the roles of men and women. It'll take a while to grow up.

  3. Being women who have calculated the time as 102 years, I can tell you that data is completely unreliable.

  4. यत्र नार्यस्तु पूज्यन्ते रमन्ते तत्र देवताः। यत्रैतास्तु न पूज्यन्ते सर्वास्तत्राफलाः क्रियाः ॥ => The divine are extremely happy where women are respected ; where they are not, all actions are fruitless.

  5. Well.. It's because her country (India) is the land of extreme discrimination. India is number one in discrimination. That's their "achievement".

  6. One of the most challenging problems worth discussing on the biggest stage besides rising inequality, trade war, AI, climate change, falling democracies – "sexist question faced by multi multi millionaire". who is in top 0.01% in the world. If she is victim then no one is safe. Please focus on real issues. Fake news. Fake news. If the diversity glorification is so powerful the why are liberal diverse democracies loosing against China(a country that doesn't give dam about diversity and social constructionist stuff) Issues focused on by the Chinese :
    1. Alternative energy and electric vehicle (Leader by far says Elon musk. Tesla china and BYD massive success)
    2. AI (China AI 2030, aiming to be the leader)
    3. Infrastructure and trade (Belt and road initiative – greatest infrastructure project in entire history of human civilization)
    4. How to raise agriculture output
    5. Transport and supply chain (leader in bullet train by far )
    Meanwhile issues focused on by the west :
    Someone said something or asked something to massively elite and wealthy person and outrage is everywhere on the biggest stage of the world. Distractions from true problems. Contrast china example with California which is a liberal society politically correct diversity glorifying : public spending falling with black pleague becoming a possibility(hard to believe). If liberal stuff is so great why isn't it working in California ? You liberal diversity folks have lost touch with reality on ground that's why you lost brexit vote and loosing to populists all over the world. Please discuss real issues. THIS FOG OF FALSE VICTIMHOOD IS A DEAD END. YOU STAY FIXATED ON THIS AND YOU WILL KEEP LOOSING TO POPULISTS.
