Click For Free Video: Beginner Forehand Tennis Lesson: 3 Keys (Top Speed Tennis)
In this video we will go over how to hit a forehand for beginning tennis players. This motion can be broken down into three individual moves. The first piece is the grip. We want to make sure we have the bottom knuckle of the index finger resting on the number three bevel on the tennis racket. The second thing we want to have is to keep the arm relatively straight and moving in a half circle motion. This will allow you to hit up on the ball slightly and create topspin. Lastly we want to make contact well in front of the body. We can tie all of these motions together in the end with one simple drill.
I look forward to working with you much more in the future with Top Speed Tennis. Good luck with your tennis.

You teach golf and tennis?!
Can you imagine how much info a beginner will have to remember at the end of this class ? The time reference, the racket angle , the door knob etc etc …. I would have them started with much much more simple stuff.
Clay, good job, I like that you start with the basic forehand grip and a side stance …..later the player can adjust….
technically clear and precise tips!
Great instructor
Very simple.
I'm also an instructor. I'm wondering why you start with a Eastern FH grip instead of just going straight to Semi-Western. I've taught both ways. My opinion is, why not show them the way they are most likely going to get to eventually anyways. Even if the first couple lessons are more difficult. Thanks!
I usually tell kids to just hold the racket like they are shaking someone's hand.
Great video
Do you have a discounted program for middle or high school programs that would allow multiple users with a tracking system to follow student activity and progression?
Does your program have any written material/handouts or checklists that I could take to the court or hand out to students?
this is a treasure
